Zillow wants to Make Me Move

Well our friends at Zillow.com are back at it again - and real estate bloggers are taking note. They've added some new things, from listing homes, to updated real estate guides but the one that is making waves is the "Make me Move" price.

In theory, it's kind of cool. It's a price you just couldn't refuse if someone - say a neighbor- offered you for your home. So it's being on the market but not being on the market. It's the dream price we would sell our house for. I know my price.

People are asking if this kind of thing happens. An offer out of the blue to purchase a house. This thing doesn't happen right?

It happened to my mom in the house I grew up in. A neighbor's house was for sale and the potential buyer lost the contract in a bidding war. This buyer walked across the street, rang the doorbell, and asked my mom how much she wanted for the house. My mom named a number, the buyer named a number, and we moved in six weeks.

I'm interested in seeing how this would work on the internet
